The Plastic Pipeline Wins Big at Serious Game Festivals [[link removed]]
[[link removed]]The Plastic Pipeline, a serious game produced by the Wilson Center’s Serious Games Initiative and China Environment Forum in collaboration with FableVision Studios, won two awards this summer. The first was an award for Best Game for Government Audiences from the Serious Games Showcase and Competition Europe. The second was for the Best Game in Environmental Impact from the prestigious Games for Change Festival in NYC, some would say this one is equivalent to a Pulitzer.

Filling the Gap: Refugee-to-Refugee Aid and the Role of Faith Actors in Humanitarian Settings In Search of Polar Bears in the Arctic Summer
Displaced people are more than recipients of assistance, they often are instrumental in helping the newly displaced get settled into their new communities. Estelle Erwich offers a closer look at the intersections between refugee-based aid, faith-based outreach, and the persisting needs within the international humanitarian community. Robin Wright takes her keen reporting, observation, and storytelling skills to the Arctic, where she encountered a mama polar bear and her two cubs, writing “One lingering lesson from my Arctic adventure, was that polar bears are a microcosm of the challenges to the physics of our planet.”

Wilson Center Appoints New Korea Center Director Leaders in the United States and Japan Step Aside
The Wilson Center has appointed Troy Stangarone as the new director of the Hyundai Motor-Korea Foundation Center for Korean History and Public Policy. Mr. Stangarone is a leading Washington-based analyst on key issues shaping relations between the United States and the Republic of Korea, and his policy expertise and thought leadership about the Korean Peninsula is well-recognized in both Washington and Seoul. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Wilson Center team. “Shared interests in pushing back against China and protecting advanced technologies have drawn the United States and Japan closer together in an era of international uncertainty. Meanwhile, they are also experiencing significant change at home.
