Friend,
I wanted to share with you the recent news of a $575,000 funding award I presented to the Opportunities Industrialization Center Philadelphia. While this check is significant in it's own regard, this funding award also marks a major milestone--I’ve now surpassed the $30 million mark of federal dollars that I have brought back home to Philadelphia from Washington, DC. I’m proud to fight for the people of my district.
This funding for more than a half-million dollars will go directly toward training frontline healthcare workers. It will enable OIC to expand current program offerings to create career ladder opportunities in the healthcare sector—part of an ongoing effort to improve healthcare access and well-being for all.
Targeted funding like CPF allows me to work directly with local stakeholders—and not some Washington bureaucrat--- to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to meet the demands of an evolving job market.
By enhancing the training of those who choose to serve on the frontlines of healthcare, we are making continued improvements to the delivery of healthcare in our city and neighborhoods. And by empowering those individuals in the workforce----we foster economic growth and stability.
It is my duty in Congress to pass legislation and provide funding to improve and expand opportunities for those seeking to become part of the workforce. I voted for and am proud to deliver this funding that will support the expansion of healthcare training at OIC.
Sincerely
Brendan F. Boyle
Member of Congress
