Hey friend,

Across the country, COVID-19 cases and deaths are being reported at disproportionately high rates in Black communities. In California, Black residents ages 18 to 49 are dying nearly two and a half times more often than their share of the state's population. Data from Louisiana, Michigan, Chicago, and New York also show these racial imbalances.

This racial disparity is a call to action. We need more Black leaders in office who understand the realities our communities are facing, who listen to us when we demand structural change, and who will fight back against the intentional neglect that has left our communities far too vulnerable. More Black representation and leadership for our communities can literally be the difference between life and death.

We won't look away from the tragedies taking place across the country. Instead, we are facing the facts and working to make a future that works for us. If you're with us in this fight to elect more Black representation this November, please pitch in to our 2020 fund today.

Data doesn't lie, friend. COVID-19 doesn't see race, but privileges like access to health care, child care, the ability to stay home when you are sick, and so much do factor into who can get the help they need and who has a better chance at recovery.

COVID-19 has completely upended our democracy. And when this crisis ends, we refuse to go back to "normal" because normal was leaving our communities behind.

Help us elect the Black leaders of tomorrow. Rush support to our 2020 fund right now.

The Collective Team

The Collective is strengthening our democracy by addressing the underrepresentation of Black Americans in public office. To help The Collective build Black political power in 2020, rush support today.
