Listen, I want to be clear about this. I’m proud of my record serving KS-03 families in Congress.

I’m proud of our work lowering prescription drug prices. I’m proud that I helped pass laws protecting marriage equality, tackling climate change, and working to reduce gun violence in our nation.

I’m proud to stand up for abortion rights and defend against assaults on our democracy. And I always knew that, in this toss-up district, national Republicans would attack me for my record. It was never going to stop me from fighting for what I believe in.

But here’s the cold hard truth: The attacks this year are starting earlier than our team expected. National Republicans are already coming after me, and extremist super PACs are preparing to air negative TV ads against me any day now. And we don’t yet have the resources we need to fight back.
