We know we’re on the verge of sounding like a broken record here, but you know how important we think conversation is. At every level of government, elected officials are supposed to talk to the people they work for. They’re supposed to hear their concerns, ideas, and thoughts. The bottom line is, representatives are elected to represent. No-show Nick hasn’t been doing his job.
You know what else really matters, come to think of it? Telling the truth. In fact, here on Long Island, we can smell BS from a mile away. While we’re not surprised No-show Nick is living up to his name, it’s not like he can tell the truth anyways. Because he's done absolutely nothing.
Look, we know LaLota’s a toady. But talking to your constituents is the bare minimum. He hasn’t held a town hall in two years. And when we confronted him about it, he lied about it. That’s a firing offense.
Why hasn't he held one? It’s certainly not because he’s too busy. We all know how little time he actually dedicates to representing Suffolk County. Is it because he’s lazy? Is it because he’s scared? Is it because he thinks his own constituents will show up just to heckle him?
We’re going to go with all of the above. His constituency is one person who lives in Mar-a-Lago (very, very, far away from our district).
We’ve called him out on this from the beginning, and now he’s taking notice. Apparently John’s comments made him angry. And what do MAGA Republicans like Nick LaLota do when somebody makes them angry with the truth? They take to Twitter and whine, lie, and troll. Extreme toady behavior.
We need somebody who shows up. Plain and simple. Not somebody who makes a phone call from outside the district or only shows up to entertain corporations. The thing is, finding common ground isn’t that hard. Anyone who spends more than five minutes talking to people in Suffolk county would know that. You have to ask yourself why Nick LaLota doesn’t get it.
