It’s been an exciting time since Vice President Kamala Harris announced her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Governor Walz was elected Governor of Minnesota the same year I was elected to Congress, so I have not had the chance to work with him personally. But ever since the announcement, my colleagues in the House who served with him in the decade before I arrived in D.C. have been totally over the moon, sharing their experiences and views about what an all-around great person he is.
While I don’t know him personally, I do know that he—a veteran, former teacher and high school football coach, and former Congressman—will make an exceptional vice president. Why? Not just because my friends think he’s great—which they do—but because he has a real record of delivering meaningful progress for his state as Governor—including ensuring abortion protections, passing common sense gun safety measures, and tackling child hunger and poverty through free school meals. He has delivered for our veterans in Congress. And, he has a history of winning tough races.
That last one is important because we know we have a very tough race ahead.
People across our community and across the country are rallying behind our candidates and, next week, we’ll make it official at the Democratic National Convention.
Let’s give them a strong boost of support! Will you split a contribution between the Harris-Walz campaign and mine?
I know they have what it takes to defeat Donald Trump and JD Vance this November and ensure the GOP’s dangerous Project 2025 agenda doesn’t become our reality. And I’ve spent a bunch of time this August working on our plans here in #TX07 to support them and Democrats up and down the ballot in Texas. To execute a winning campaign plan takes money and effort. Our campaigns need both!
So, today, I hope you will support our effort with a contribution that will help our campaign and theirs reach every voter we can. With so much at stake this election, and with Election Day less than three months away, I hope you will split any amount you can between their campaign and ours.
I hope you will also keep thinking about other ways to help, too. Soon, our team will send out more information about ways to volunteer for our campaign—from writing postcards, to knocking on doors, to making phone calls, to planting yard signs, and more. We need to do a lot of things to make sure we win back the House, hold on to the Senate, and send Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to the White House! I’m so glad to be a partner in that work with this incredible team in TX-07!
Together, we can do anything,
