We cannot let big oil use this crisis to further exploit our communities and further harm public health.

John,

With oil prices tanking, fossil fuel companies are scrambling to exploit the COVID-19 crisis to loosen regulations, build pipelines, and secure new permits.

The American Petroleum Institute sent a letter to the EPA requesting that the federal government waive health and safety compliances it deemed “burdensome.” And it worked.

Meanwhile, public health experts have shown that people living in areas near fossil fuel operations are more likely to die from the coronavirus because of the toxic pollution they’ve been exposed to.1 And yet Trump is relaxing regulations for polluters and putting vulnerable populations even more at risk.

We cannot let Trump use this crisis to further exploit our communities and worsen yet another public health crisis.

Will you join our live discussion this Wednesday, April 29 at 8pm ET/5pm PT with the Feminist Green New Deal coalition to discuss the intersection of the climate and COVID-19 crises and what a just recovery must look like?

Fossil fuel executives are begging Trump for a billion-dollar bailout – but even before COVID-19, we knew that supporting this dying industry is not only financially irresponsible, but killing our planet and communities.

Despite massive government subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, renewable energy is still the cheapest option with 3.3 million Americans working in clean energy – outnumbering fossil fuel workers 3-to-1.2

We need to make sure that we protect our communities now and in the future. We cannot let Trump give billions of dollars to his fossil fuel cronies so they can continue to wreck our planet, when we should be investing in union-protected, clean energy jobs that support our economy and working people.

RSVP for our webinar on Wednesday to help chart the path forward for a just recovery that protects people and our planet first.

Black and brown communities are bearing the brunt of both the climate and the COVID-19 crises. We have an opportunity to build a more just and equitable world where this won’t be our reality, but we need to fight for it together.

Hope to see you on Wednesday.
