John,
I hope you are as well as can be during these challenging times.
I know that the COVID-19 pandemic is burdening all of us.
Personally, I have transitioned to speaking with my staff via
Zoom calls instead of in-person and have started religiously
wearing gloves and masks outside the home so as to not endanger
my 93-year-old mother who lives with me. This “new normal” surely
takes some getting used to.
But despite these stressful
times, we have accomplished a lot,
John. Here’s a highlight of some of
the many recent things we’ve done together:
* We gathered more than 2,000 signatures calling for President
Trump to put a doctor or scientist in charge of his COVID-19
response. As we can see from his nonsense press briefing where he
suggested injecting cleaning products as treatment -- this is
more critical than ever.
* We stood up to Gov. Kemp when he made the reckless decision to
reopen beaches over the objections of towns and local officials.
We stood up to him again when he went against the advice of
experts and decided it was time to reopen the entire state of
Georgia, which is now happening as we speak.
* We introduced gun safety reform legislation in Congress that
will save lives. The National Rifle Association (NRA) came after
me fiercely for proposing this legislation, so you know it must
be a good idea (ha!). If you can, will you pitch in to help me
stand up to NRA attacks?

* I voted for the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care
Enhancement Act that replenished small business loan funds that
in many cases were greedily gobbled up by large corporations.
* We’ve also worked tirelessly to educate folks about COVID-19.
Just recently, I had an interview with Rolling Out magazine

, where I talked about misinformation about the COVID-19 and
health disparities that are hurting the Black community.

John -- None of these accomplishments
would be possible without your support and teamwork. And now I’m
asking you for one more thing: Will you consider pitching in a
small donation to my re-election campaign?

As you may know, each year there are four End-of-Quarter
Filing Deadlines where federal campaigns like mine must report
all our fundraising and expenditures to the Federal Election
Commission (FEC). These are critical periods for us to bring
grassroots donations in the door so that our campaign never has
to rely on special interests to win. Our last End-Of-Quarter
deadline was in March, and we made the tough decision to forgo
online fundraising so that we could spend our time and energy
educating people about COVID-19 and holding officials like Donald
Trump and Gov. Kemp accountable.
Well, John, while I am happy with
that decision, we fell pretty far behind and now our back is up
against the wall. We have to make up a lot of ground before the
end of April (specifically $5,000 through our email program)
which is why I am asking you to pitch in a contribution before
our End-Of-Month Fundraising Deadline at 11:59 PM EST on April
30th. Will you help?

John, I simply couldn’t do this
without you. Thank you for being a part of this fight with me.
In solidarity,
Hank
