As we prepare to face off against far-right ideologue Jay Obernolte, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how far this campaign has come.

Just a few years ago, this district was considered a safe Republican district, and most pundits thought we’d have little hope of turning it blue.

But things have changed significantly in the past year. The registration gap between Republicans and Democrats in CA-08 has narrowed to only 4%. That’s an even slimmer margin than Democrats overcame in numerous California House victories in 2018 -- including Katie Porter’s race in CA-45.

We’re confident that we can do the same in CA-08, but we need your help:

Obernolte is best known for being a climate science denier, anti-vaxxer, and staunchly opposes women’s reproductive rights. The truth is, a few years ago that may have been a winning formula in this community.

But things are changing in CA-08. And they’re changing fast.

We know the Republicans are gearing up for an all-out fight to keep this seat red. That means more establishment cash and special interest support than this district has ever seen.
