john — Normally on the campaign trail, politicians talk about legislation they recently passed — not laws from the 1800s. But the Comstock Act is coming up often, so I wanted to take a moment to explain this law — and why I’m trying to repeal it.

The Comstock Act is a 150-year-old absurd, outdated piece of legislation that has not been broadly enforced for nearly a century.

But Trump, Vance, and their MAGA policy advisors are planning to use this legislation to ban abortion nationwide.

By outlawing the mailing of abortion medications like mifepristone, as well as the medical equipment doctors need to perform abortions, a new Trump administration could try to make legal abortions nearly impossible.

Enforcing the Comstock Act would make it significantly harder for women to access reproductive care — even in states where abortion is legally protected.

There’s more — earlier this year, in a Supreme Court case related to medication abortion, Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas brought up the Comstock Act . Yikes.

I don’t know about you, john, but I don’t want Donald Trump, JD Vance, Clarence Thomas, or Samuel Alito to make decisions about women’s healthcare.

I’m leading the charge to repeal the Comstock Act and get rid of this outrageous, outdated legislation. Will you add your name alongside mine in support of repealing the Comstock Act ? [[link removed]]

john, we have to defend every inch of reproductive freedom we have left.

We know the Republican playbook — they’ll use every archaic law and judicial maneuver they can to restrict abortions. That’s why we need to step up right now.

Thanks for voicing your support,

Tina
