Project 2025 leader says Trump "very supportive" of their work and lays out plans if he returns to White House
Russell Vought, a Project 2025 leader and former head of the Office of Management and Budget during the Trump administration, unwittingly told undercover reporters that the MAGA cult leader remains "very supportive" of their work despite the convicted felon publicly distancing himself from the politically radioactive and downright dystopian manifesto. An undercover journalist and a paid actor from the Centre for Climate Reporting pretended to be relatives of a wealthy donor when they set up a meeting with Vought, and the radical, right-wing ideologue did not disappoint. Vought, who has been seen as a possible chief of staff in a hypothetical second Trump term, really doled out the very bad goods: "[Trump's] been at our organization, he’s raised money for our organization, he’s blessed it. I remember walking into our last day in office and told him what I was going to do. So, he’s very supportive of what we do." Vought, who literally refers to his own think tank, the Center for Renewing America, as "the Death Star," claimed to also be in charge of drafting hundreds of executive orders, regulations, and memos to push Project 2025's fascistic agenda if Trump returns to the Oval Office.

In an epic display of legalistic gobbledygook, Trump's lawyers claimed the delay was necessary to "prospectively mitigate the asserted conflict of appearance and impropriety, which are subject to ongoing congressional inquiries." In other words, Donald's MAGA goons in the House are looking for brazenly partisan ways to get their cult leader off the hook while also running out the clock, and Judge Merchan should totally just let that process play out. Something tells us this isn't going to work.

Shawn Jordan, a 40-year-old former upstate New York police officer who pleaded guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl before his forced resignation, was just sentenced to 10 paltry WEEKENDS in jail for his heinous crimes, because justice is a farcical, two-tiered game where certain offenders, like white male police officers, are all-too-often handled with the lily-est of white gloves while marginalized members of society feel the full and diproportionate weight of the US legal system for nonviolent offenses a fraction of the size or severity. Jordan pleaded guilty to second-degree rape and forcible touching of a 13-year-old girl AND, in a separate matter, was charged in the spring of 2023 with exposing himself to a 16-year-old girl over a video call. This man is a monster, and the New York state criminal justice system essentially put him in the real-world equivalent of afterschool detention. Unbelievable.
