What a political whirlwind this last month has been! All eyes are on Washington, and Americans across the country are answering the call to elect Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States. I know I’m all-in — and I’m sure you are, too.

But did you know we also have a battleground race right here in our own Brooklyn backyard?

State Senator Iwen Chu is fighting to keep her seat — and the State Senate’s Democratic supermajority — in this year’s reelection campaign. There’s a lot on the line.

Two years ago, Iwen ran a great race and became the first Asian-American woman ever elected to the New York State Senate. She’s a long-time champion for Southern Brooklyn, a vibrant community that she’s been serving for over a decade. She quickly got to work in the State Senate: her leadership has delivered a record $30 million two years in a row for the AAPI equity fund, stronger e-bike safety regulations, and better funded public education for her community.

Unfortunately, the same Republicans who want to drag the White House and our nation back to the dark ages have made Iwen and Southern Brooklyn a top target. We can’t let them succeed.
