We hope you will join Sister District DC Metro Area and our co-sponsors, Diversity Matters, as well as members of The Woman's National Democratic Club, on Sept 5, to hear from Anna Thomas and Woodson Bradley, our incredible candidates from Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 each for Anna and Woodson at this event, so please consider donating $50 in advance of your registration. There also will be opportunities to contribute at the venue on Sept 5.
About Anna Thomas: Born and raised in her district by a family of immigrants from India and Malaysia, Anna is running to protect essential freedoms and unseat an entrenched Republican incumbent in a critical PA House district outside of Philadelphia. In 2022, Anna narrowly lost her race for the PA House by just 700 votes. Anna has continued to advocate for her community since then, and with our support she can prevail over a 14-year incumbent.
Democrats flipped the PA House in 2022 by only 63 votes in one district! After special elections due to vacancies, Democrats will need to protect a one-seat majority. We must elect Anna to defend democracy and protect abortion in this important battleground state.
About Woodson Bradley: Woodson is a domestic violence survivor and women's rights advocate running for election to the NC State Senate. In 2022, the GOP created new legislative districts to safeguard their far-right agenda. By flipping just one seat in the North Carolina State Senate, we can break the GOP’s dangerous supermajority and make Democratic inroads in this battleground state.
Woodson Bradley's race is a must-win if we hope to flip a seat in the NC State Senate to break GOP control.
