Until we build a country that works for the many, not the few, we must organize to provide each other with mutual aid in these uncertain times.
Working Families Party
John, we've identified six groups that need your help to continue providing direct aid to Americans hit the hardest by this economic and public health crisis. Will you help with a split contribution between these groups today?

John,

Over 26 million Americans have now filed for unemployment in recent weeks. Many have yet to receive any money. The COVID-19 relief packages passed by Congress will ease some of the burdens for some working families, but it’s not nearly enough.

It's simply unacceptable that millions of Americans won’t see a dime, and millions more will have to wait for months, while people have to pay the rent in just a few days on May 1st and put food on the table for their families.

Working Families Party champions like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are fighting in Congress to make sure any future relief legislation reflects the interests and needs of people, not corporations. But Americans who are struggling can't wait. We must take care of each other.

We've identified six groups — Movement for Black Lives COVID-19 Mutual Aid Fund, United for Respect, Rent Zero Tenant Organizing Fund, United We Dream’s Undocufund, Make the Road COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, and the Metro-Atlanta Mutual Aid Fund — engaging in critical organizing work to help those most impacted by this crisis. Can you split a contribution between these groups today?

Here’s some more information on these groups:

  1. Movement for Black Lives COVID-19 Mutual Aid Fund: The systemic inequality that falls disproportionately on Black people’s shoulders has only been exacerbated during the COVID-19 crisis. The Movement for Black Lives is developing mutual aid networks, providing direct support to Black led organizations, and creating virtual spaces for connection.
  2. United for Respect: Essential workers are not disposable workers, and yet Walmart is requiring their employees to work for low wages without sufficient protection from the virus and few have paid leave. United for Respect is working with Walmart workers to help them win protective equipment, paid leave, and hazard pay.
  3. Rent Zero Tenant Organizing Fund: No one should have to fear losing their home, especially in the middle of a deadly pandemic. Rent Zero Tenant Organizing Fund is supporting the millions of tenants across the country who have suddenly found themselves out of work and unable to pay the rent by calling for eviction moratoriums and no rents for the duration of this crisis.
  4. United We Dream Undocufund: As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic deepens in our communities, the immigrant youth of United We Dream are adding direct financial assistance as the next phase of their comprehensive response plan. All funds donated to the NationalUndocuFund go directly to immigrants who need help.
  5. Make the Road COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund: This fund is supporting outreach efforts to low-income immigrants directly affected by this crisis, and organizing efforts to ensure they are not left out of governmental relief programs.
  6. MAMA Fund: The Metro Atlanta Mutual Aid Fund was created by community members from metro-Atlanta who have witnessed the needs of their neighbors at this time of crisis. They are focused on rapid response for now and building alternative systems for our future, work that is grounded in principles of mutual aid and collective responsibility, not charity. Funds are targeted towards Black, Indigenous, and peoples of color.

Every dollar we raise right now will go directly into the critical work of these groups, and as you can imagine, the demand is unprecedented.

Please split a contribution between these first six groups today so that they can continue organizing to help Americans hit the hardest by this crisis.

Our system should provide people with assistance when they need it the most. But until we build a country that works for the many, not the few, we must organize to help each other in these uncertain times.

In solidarity,

Working Families Party
