Numerous troupes from Nottingham and beyond will be taking part in the colourful Carnival Parade, which starts at 2pm and is free to watch.
The Parade route will start at Victoria Embankment, heading up Wilford Grove, Felton Road and Green Street before making its way back down to the Embankment via Bunbury Street, returning to the Carnival festival site via Wilford Grove, where they will perform on the dedicated stage within the Carnival site. The complete Parade should take no more than 2 hours and you can watch for free at any point along the route. [ [link removed] ]
There will be hundreds of stunning costumes made brand new for the Parade, plus Moko Jumbies - a West African tradition of costumed dancers on stilts, and amazing Caporales San Simon from Bolivia.

Victoria Embankment
International reggae star Wayne Wonder headlines the Nottingham Carnival festival this Sunday! The Grammy-nominated artist has been a consistent hitmaker of extraordinary songs since the late 80s, becoming globally renowned in 2003 with the single "No Letting Go".
The Carnival festival site will feature the Main Stage, Soca Stage and Millennium Stage with live bands, DJs and sound systems. Joining Wayne Wonder on the line-up will be V Rocket, Gambino Akuboy (as seen on "Britain's Got Talent"), Claire Angel, Big Ship Alliance, Escobar, Rastarella, Suga Lion, Dial Tone, and DJ Steel.
The dedicated Windrush Zone will feature Europe's first steel band, the Nostalgia Street Orchestra, an exhibition, advice clinic, poetry and more. On site there will also be trade stalls, world food stalls, a licensed bar, and fairground rides, as well as a kids zone with activities.
Tickets are ÂŁ5 in advance - available until 10am on Sunday (after this it's ÂŁ7 on the door). Kids 12 and under go free. Car parking is ÂŁ6 all day.

We've got your August bank holiday weekend plans sorted as the Arboretum Beer Festival and Foolhardy Folk Festival return to Nottingham Arboretum.
At Saturday's beer festival, enjoy real ales from breweries including Bang The Elephant, Tiny Rebel, Siren, Black Iris and many more, as well as street food curated by Bustler. Live music and entertainment will be provided by Fakermaker (acoustic Oasis tribute), The In-Here Brothers, The Outriders, Dorothy Ella, D.I.S.C.O and Hot Plants DJs.

Sunday's folk festival is a family-friendly, one-day event, mixing the finest acts from the UK festival circuit with real ales, craft beer, and street food in a truly gorgeous city centre setting.
Beans on Toast handpicks the line-up from his favourite songwriters and bands on the planet, and then hosts the day itself playing two shows, opening and closing the event.
