Dear Friend,
If you’re anything like me then I’m sure you’re enjoying locals summer – now that most tourists have left town, we have slightly less traffic, smaller crowds, and even better weather. Now is also a great time to apply for federal grants! Keep reading for a few grant opportunities that have upcoming deadlines:
Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program
The National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program invites innovative proposals to recruit, prepare, and retain highly effective elementary and secondary STEM teachers in high-need school districts. To achieve this goal, Noyce supports talented STEM undergraduate majors and professionals to become effective K-12 STEM teachers. It also supports experienced, exemplary K-12 STEM teachers to become teacher leaders who continue as classroom teachers in high-need school districts. You can learn more about the program here. Applications are due August 27th, 2024.
Eviction Protection Grant Program
The Eviction Protection Grant Program will fund nonprofit organizations and government entities to provide free legal assistance to low-income tenants at risk or subject to eviction. Additionally, projects will expand the evidence base around eviction prevention and diversion programming, by reporting information about tenants served, legal assistance services provided, outcomes achieved and milestones reached, and collaborative activities. You can find more information on the program here. Applications are due by next Tuesday, August 20th, 2024.
Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking Act (STOP Act) Grant Program
This program prevents and reduces alcohol use among youth and young adults ages 12-20. The program aims to address norms regarding alcohol use by youth, reduce opportunities for underage drinking, create changes in underage drinking enforcement efforts, address penalties for underage use, and reduce negative consequences associated with underage drinking like car crashes and sexual assaults. You can find more information on the program here. This grant opportunity will be posted in November, so please keep an eye out for it on the SAMHSA website!
