**Criminals Hunt for Victims in Downtown Dallas**

Amidst a drastic officer shortage at the Dallas Police Department (DPD), criminals and thugs have gained the courage to roam around Downtown Dallas and "look for someone to rob." On July 14th of this year, Jake Reynosa was robbed and murdered in the Victory Park area.??

Thankfully every perpetrator involved in this criminal tragedy

**has been arrested** [link removed] and will now hopefully face punishment to the fullest extent of the law. However, this situation was completely preventable.

**DPD's shortage of officers has created a vacuum that has been filled by criminals who operate without fear in Downtown Dallas.**

DPD operates with a deficit of around 1,000 officers and cannot proactively police the parts of our city where they're needed most.

**Crime is getting worse, and the City Council does nothing!** Dallas taxpayers have the right to safe streets, and the City Council should take action now! Instead,

**they are fearmongering** [link removed] about a potential charter amendment from the Dallas HERO Initiative that would force them to fix the staffing shortage.??

It's time to alert the City Council know that we will no longer tolerate unsafe streets. Our agnostic city leaders have proven they must be compelled by voters in November to act on making Dallas safe again. The Dallas HERO initiatives are a step towards preventing our city's descent into another failed urban mecca for violence and crime like San Fransisco.

**Dallas Officials Purposely Distort Ballot Language to Fearmonger** [link removed]

The City of Dallas's attorney, Tammy Palomino, has taken it upon herself to lie about the status of the Dallas HERO Initiative charter amendments. Through her efforts to deceptively edit the language on these ballot measures, she is actively subverting democracy in Dallas.

**The City Council should not tolerate this.**

Last Friday night, three separate shootings took place. Criminals can run wild in Dallas streets with impunity.

**The Dallas City Council should jump at every opportunity to strengthen our police department and hire more cops!**

**Dallas Leads Fort Worth in Downtown Crime** [link removed]

The only lead Dallas can maintain is in their crime score.. Our City is often overshadowed by Fort Worth's valiant efforts in crime reduction. Why are our city leaders allowing us to fall behind every other city in the area in terms of public safety standards?

**They are dooming Dallas!**

This week, Executive Director Joseph Porter went live from City Hall to cover how the Dallas City Council was doing everything possible to delay discussion on the Dallas HERO Initiative.

**Many speakers were waiting more than 12 hours to make their voices heard!**

**Mockingbird**

**Camp"**

This camp in Paula Blackmon's District 9 has been dubbed "Mockingbird Camp." Dingy underpasses and panhandlers are overtaking this otherwise pleasant part of town.

**Councilwoman Blackmon should be ashamed that she is allowing her district to fall into such disrepair.**

**District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez**

**"**

**Trash Mound**

**Camp"**

This camp in Omar Narvaez's District 6 has earned the title "Trash Mound Camp." Spend enough time in Dallas and you'll see plenty of these 'trash mounds' all over the City. These spots are where vagrants store their stuff and use it as a checkpoint for their citywide panhandling operations.

**When will the city put in the effort to remove this garbage from our streets?**

**District 2 Councilman Jesse Moreno**

**Dog Days**

**Camp"**

We named this camp in Jesse Moreno's District 2 "Dog Days Camp." Texas ranks SECOND in the nation for summertime, heat-related deaths and last year was the deadliest on record. Studies show that HALF of those deaths are homeless individuals.

**It is NOT a compassionate solution from our City Council to allow people to remain in the streets of our city.**

**Mission Statement:**

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
