I miss the days when Arizona had a Republican governor.
In those days, we could change policy by passing laws, and we didn't have to constantly take the governor to court to prevent illegal activity.
That said, I do have some good news to report- all in Arizona. First, Maricopa County finally agreed to do testing on the machines they will actually use in the elections in November.
This is HUGE. Before, they would test only the backup machines. Who cares about them? I want the REAL ones tested, and now they will be!
Second, the Secure Our Border Act is indeed headed to the ballot, despite several frivolous attempts to keep it off by panicked Dems.
If you needed any more proof they want illegals voting, this is it.
This one is a BIG ruling. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that voters in Arizona who don't show proof of citizenship will not be able to vote.
This one is BIG for a state being invaded by illegals. HUGE win affirming an Arizona law that I voted for!
Finally, you may remember that the AZ Senate had to sue Gov. Katie Hobbs because she kept trying to sidestep the Senate's Advice and Consent power over her nominees. Basically tried to shoehorn her people into appointed roles, very unconstitutional.
Arizona Judge Blaney ruled her actions unconstitutional. To avoid his further involvement, Hobbs relented and came to an agreed order.
Judge Blaney rejected it because it wasn't stringent enough on the unconstitutionality of what she did.
We are getting wins- because the laws we pass are winning in court. I am frustrated it takes some time to let that play out. But it does.
But we have very tangible results to show for our legislative efforts- both on election integrity and on the border.
