Georgia elections are facing more attacks from Trump’s MAGA operation than anywhere else in America.

Recent changes to the Georgia State Election Board have transformed it into a MAGA-aligned government body: 

• Three of the board’s five members have expressed doubts that President Biden won the state in the 2020 election. 
• One new member is a former Republican Party operative.
• They are trying to pass new rules that can be used to sow distrust in election outcomes and delay the certification of results.

Their meetings have become a haven for false election conspiracy theories, many based on Trump’s 2020 election lies.

The MAGA-aligned state election board members are changing Georgia’s election rules with less than 85 days until the election. 

Some of the new rules could be used to delay or block the certification of results. The rules could increase workload demands on overburdened election workers, which could overwhelm county elections offices and even stop certification. Another proposed rule would give local election officials the power to stop the counting of votes and delay or refuse certification altogether — which flies in the face of Georgia law.
