Dear John,
Big news! Lower prescription drug prices are on the way thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration!
This morning, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced that Medicare has struck a deal to slash prices for ten of the most common and expensive prescription drugs.
When these lower prices take effect in 2026, more than 165,000 Alabama seniors will pay up to 79% less when treating chronic and life-threatening illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Nationwide, Americans will save an estimated $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs in just the first year.

This announcement was made possible by Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. When it passed in Congress, I was the only member of Alabama’s Congressional Delegation to vote YES. But as my dad always said, "it's okay to stand alone if you're standing up for what you believe."
Not only did we empower Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, but we also capped the cost of insulin at $35 per month for seniors and limited annual out-of-pocket drug costs to $2,000 for Medicare beneficiaries.
