Dear John,

Big news! Lower prescription drug prices are on the way thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration!

This morning, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced that Medicare has struck a deal to slash prices for ten of the most common and expensive prescription drugs.

When these lower prices take effect in 2026, more than 165,000 Alabama seniors will pay up to 79% less when treating chronic and life-threatening illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Nationwide, Americans will save an estimated $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs in just the first year.

Click here for a full list of the prescription drugs and their discounted prices.

This announcement was made possible by Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. When it passed in Congress, I was the only member of Alabama’s Congressional Delegation to vote YES. But as my dad always said, "it's okay to stand alone if you're standing up for what you believe."

Not only did we empower Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, but we also capped the cost of insulin at $35 per month for seniors and limited annual out-of-pocket drug costs to $2,000 for Medicare beneficiaries.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

DO YOU SUPPORT EFFORTS IN CONGRESS TO LOWER PRESCRIPTION DRUG COSTS?*

John, this is a big deal. Seniors in Alabama are being crushed by the high cost of prescription drugs. I've heard from seniors who are rationing their medication just to afford the basics.

In this nation of so much wealth and prosperity, no one should have to choose between putting food on the table and purchasing the medication they need.

Today’s announcement represents major progress in our fight to make life more affordable for Alabama families. But we know there is more to be done. Let's continue working toward a future where every Alabamian has access to the quality, affordable health care they deserve.

As always, please be sure to check in regularly with our website and social media pages (TwitterFacebook, and Instagram) for updates. If you'd like to share your thoughts or concerns, you can email me here.

Today and every day, it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Take good care.

Sincerely,
