Dear friend,
How has your summer been? While we still have some time to go before it’s over, I wanted to highlight some of my favorite parts of the summer so far:
June 24: Right here at home! 🏑
I watched one of my favorite teams, the Florida Panthers, win their first Stanley Cup Championship! The Panthers have been steadfast in their support of our community, our founding families, and the remembrance of our loved ones.
June 10: Orlando, Florida 🍊
I was glad to be in Orlando for the 2nd annual Florida School Safety Summit! Joining Stand with Parkland board member Ryan Petty and 400 attendees from all across Florida. We advocated for the safety of our students and teachers in schools and affirmed our commitment to improving mental health services and fighting for a future without school violence.
July 9th: Washington D.C. 🏛️
In D.C., I joined forces with some of the Stand With Parkland board members, my friends Phil Schentrup and Tom Hoyer, to take our message to the Capitol. We met with members of Congress and federal agencies to advocate for crucial school safety measures.
August 16th: Phoenix, Arizona 🏜️
In Phoenix, I joined some of my friends at the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) conference for the “Surviving the Unthinkable” panel. It was also great to opportunity work with some of our school leaders from the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse to support our school safety mission!
As you can tell, I’ve had one whirlwind of a summer! But I’m glad to say I spent quality family time while still fighting the epidemic that is violence in our nation's schools.
We’re taking our mission nationwide to improve safety in our schools, and we’re meeting with anyone and everyone who’s committed to the cause. If you support the work we’re doing, will you chip in and help us tackle firearm violence head-on?

Enjoy the rest of your summer,
