There’s no easy way to say this:

We’re falling far behind on our fundraising.

Every campaign is built around a series of fundraising goals. Ours is no different in that sense. Where we might differ a bit from others is that emails like this, alongside text messages, ads, and other donations that come through online… they make up the vast majority of the money we raise.

We set high goals this month, and we set spending commitments based on that projection. We did it because we had a really strong month in July, and we keep hearing about momentum and enthusiasm — we even saw it ourselves at the massive rally in Phoenix last Friday.

But all that momentum, all that enthusiasm… it just hasn’t translated into fundraising for our campaign.

Now, the way we see it, we’ve got two options ahead of our mid-month deadline tonight. Either our supporters pull through and get us to our goal, or we have to start looking at painful cuts. At this point in the race, we don’t have much room to fall behind — they make it all the more likely that Trump and Lake get the edge on us.

We can’t spend what we don’t raise, so we’re really hoping you can help.
