Hi John,
Tomorrow is the two year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) passing through Congress! The IRA is the largest investment ever made in climate and clean energy, and we thank the Biden-Harris administration for making this possible. We want to take a moment to celebrate the tremendous programs and funding available to the public that the IRA has created for us. Will you help us celebrate? [link removed]
Let’s take a look at what these investments are doing across the country:
- Creating more than 312,900 good-paying clean energy jobs across 47 states (including Oregon!) [[link removed]]
- Clean energy industry is powering economic growth with $500 billion in new investments and 100,000 new manufacturing jobs [[link removed]]
- Saving families money with tax credits and rebates for energy efficient home upgrades and electric vehicles (EVs)
- Last year 3.4 million families saved $8.4 billion on clean energy and efficiency upgrades [[link removed]]
- Lower upfront costs of clean energy and energy efficiency investments, and lower monthly utility bills for American families [[link removed]]
- Hundreds of billions of dollars in climate and clean energy investments in low-income communities and communities of color
- Advancing our climate goals beyond everyday families by cutting emissions and accelerating progress towards our climate goals
Will you take a moment to thank President Biden for his climate leadership by sharing, liking, or commenting on OLCV's posts here: Facebook [[link removed]], Twitter [[link removed]], Instagram [[link removed]]? You can also create your own post and tag @POTUS!
While we are celebrating the anniversary of the IRA, let’s not forget our governor and state legislators! We want to thank Governor Tina Kotek for keeping Oregon on track to receive IRA benefits, such as the $197M mega grant for climate action award just last month [[link removed]]. With Oregon’s climate policies like EV rebates and heat pump deployment programs - which passed thanks to our state legislators - these funds will bring Oregon an estimated reduction of 1.2 million metric tons of greenhouse gasses by 2030 and 6.5 metric tons by 2050. Please take a moment to send Governor Tina Kotek a message to thank her for her work!
