Creating a will is one of the most empowering decisions you can make for your future and the well-being of your loved ones. At the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we understand the importance of planning for the future to ensure that your wishes are honored and your loved ones are cared for. It is also an opportunity to help make possible the impact AFSP has through our initiatives including scientific research, education, loss support, advocacy, and the Out of the Darkness Walks – all of which help to save lives, and make a difference to the many people affected by this leading cause of death. You CAN make a significant difference by making AFSP’s mission a part of your legacy.
In celebration of National Make-A-Will Month, we invite you to consider creating or updating your will. Through our partner at [FreeWill]([link removed]), creating an estate plan is completely free and can be an important way to:
- Cultivate security through finalizing your plans
- Establish your values by including the people and causes you love the most
- Exercise agency over the important decisions in your life, including planning for your assets

The power of a will lies in its ability to give you control over your future and provide protection for your loved ones. It’s about creating a legacy that speaks to who you are and what you care about most to instill your values far beyond today. Help us bring suicide out of the darkness.
[During Make-A-Will Month, take the first step towards peace of mind by joining over 265 members of our AFSP community who have secured their vision for their futures with this free tool.]([link removed]) Together, we can save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
