Good morning,  John

The Democratic Unionist Party is determined to help working families across Northern Ireland. As part of that, in May I announced a suite of Early Learning and Childcare Measures for implementation in the 2024/25 year.

This included the Northern Ireland Childcare Subsidy Scheme – an initiative designed to reduce childcare costs for parents eligible for Tax Free Childcare (TFC) by 15% for all qualifying children who have not yet started primary school.

Starting from 1st September 2024, any parent receiving TFC for a child who has not yet enrolled in primary school will be eligible to participate in the scheme, provided their childcare provider is signed up with HMRC as a TFC provider.

Invitations have been issued to registered childcare providers on 23rd July with a link to pre-register to take part in the scheme.

Only providers who pre-register will be able to participate.

Early Years – the organisation for young children has been appointed to administer the scheme on behalf of the Department of Education. Their website has a lot of useful information also.

Only eligible children registered by August 20th will be processed for a subsidy in the September cycle, as a provider is required to submit a claim on the system prior to issuing an invoice.

Make sure you don’t miss out on this support,
