Hey James – big news: as of last night, I’m officially the Democratic nominee for Congress in Wisconsin’s 8th district.

We’ve made it past the biggest milestone yet in this race, and we now have an opponent. And that makes it all the more important that we hit our post-primary goal of raising $50,000 so we can stay on track to win in November – but first I want to tell you why I got into this race.

I’ve seen first-hand how important it is for healthcare decisions to be made between patients and their doctors, and the painful consequences of government interference. Due to an 1800s-era law, I was forced to temporarily practice across state lines in Minnesota to prevent prosecution.

I sued the state of Wisconsin to overturn that archaic law banning abortion care – and won.

But, too many women across the country still face restrictive bans on their healthcare. So I’m running for Congress because you deserve the right to make your own decisions about your own body, no matter your zip code.

There’s plenty to accomplish, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
