Folks, I just HAD to show you this.
Tim isn’t the only one who knows their way around the state fair. This weekend I stopped by AG Day at the state fair and got to hang out with this adorable piglet and engage with the voters in Springfield.
Fighting for farms, farmers, and cute little pigs like this one is something that I’m proud to do every single day in Washington. I’m working alongside House Democrats to pass a Farm Bill that doesn’t undercut farmers and everyday families, ensures that we have solutions to farm sustainably so we don’t exacerbate the climate crisis, and makes sure that family farms have opportunity for success so that people can sustain their livelihoods for generations to come.
The reality is that the folks on the other side of the aisle who are working to enact the Project 2025 agenda are working even harder to put a stop to all of that.
“If the Heritage Foundation had its way, the next President would demand that Congress significantly cut federally supported crop insurance, eliminate the Conservation Reserve Program, phase out certain H-2 work visas, and repeal agricultural export promotion programs like USDA’s Market Access Program. Most farmers know that Market Access Program funding has been instrumental in opening valuable new markets worldwide for corn, soybeans, meat, ethanol, and even biorefinery co-products such as distiller grains animal feed.”

Farmers across the country work tirelessly to make sure we have food to feed our families. We should be investing in their success, not gutting the programs they rely on. Team — I’ll always stand with the farmers of Central and Southern Illinois if you’re with me, pitch in $10 right now to help us win this race and get back to work.
