Why is Maine so important to the country in 2020? Why are we at the Maine Dems sending you all these emails and working to build the most comprehensive voter outreach program the state has ever seen? Here it is in a nutshell:

• Donald Trump is using his Republican majority as a shield to protect him from everything from bribing foreign governments for dirt of political opponents, to his chaotic and downright dangerous handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
• Even if we defeat Donald Trump, nothing gets accomplished if the Republicans still control the Senate or if they can flip control of the House.
• There are only a handful of states where Democrats can flip Republican seats -- one of them is Maine.
• Maine also has a toss-up Congressional race, and Republicans are going to come after Jared Golden with everything they have.
• Trump won a single electoral vote from Maine in 2016 -- that electoral vote may decide the election in 2020.
