I have some exciting news that I wanted you to hear directly from me: Arizona voters will officially get to decide whether or not to enshrine the right to an abortion in the state constitution in November.

This is huge news for our state, friend. Voters will get the opportunity to protect the right to an abortion in Arizona with a constitutional amendment that would make it much more difficult to overturn abortion rights from future state courts or legislative action.

But friend, while this is great news for Arizona, a federal abortion ban would supersede this state constitutional amendment. That’s why, in Congress, I have consistently and forcefully fought against a federal abortion ban. But if Republicans take control of Congress and the White House, a federal abortion ban is at the top of their agenda.
