The Social Security Act became law 89 years ago today, establishing the program that now helps millions of seniors make ends meet every month.

For decades, Republicans have attempted to privatize, cut, and even dismantle this vital program. My opponent will be lock-in-step with these efforts in the House. 

But on my watch, that will never happen.

Americans have earned these benefits through years of hard work, friend. We all deserve the chance to retire with security and dignity.
