If you didn’t know, yesterday was primary election day in Wisconsin. And because of the fair maps I signed in February, for the first time in over a decade, when Wisconsinites went to the ballot box, they no longer voted under some of the most gerrymandered legislative maps in America!
I’m jazzed as hell that Wisconsin is no longer the most gerrymandered state. But across the country, the voting rights of Americans – especially in states led by GOP governors – are still at risk.

Team, when I promised I wanted fair maps – not maps that are better for one party or another, including my own – I damn well meant it.
The people should get to choose their elected officials, not the other way around. And when elected officials in Wisconsin gerrymandered themselves into safe seats – one of the most extreme partisan gerrymanders in American political history – they ignored the overwhelming majority of Wisconsinites. Now, under my watch, Wisconsin has fair maps: a historic, game-changing moment that will define my state’s future. And I couldn’t be prouder to say this is a promise I’ve delivered on.
And take it from me: my fellow Democratic governors are also busy delivering real results across the country each and every day – from expanding voting rights and protecting our democracy to enshrining reproductive freedom. Meanwhile, Republicans are stepping up their attacks against us and taking our country backward.
We need your help to win these fights. And with 11 governors’ races on the ballot in just a few months, your input has never been more critical.
