Today the Trump administration’s xenophobic agenda took a cruel new turn: It finalized a new regulation that would establish a racially-motivated wealth test for immigrant families seeking to make the United States their permanent home.
This new regulation constitutes the administration’s biggest change yet to our nation’s legal immigration system, and it will devastate millions of families. It won’t only impact immigrants. When any of our communities’ members don’t have access to the tools and services they need to thrive, we all lose out.
Friend, days like these are never easy. But we aren’t done fighting. Our legal team is ready to head to the courthouse to challenge this unlawful regulation and prevent it from harming millions of immigrant families. Legal fights are costly, but if this one can stop this unlawful and cruel rule from taking effect, then it is both necessary and a moral duty.
