Can’t make it to Chicago? Host an event with your friends and celebrate the Harris/Walz ticket together! Indivisibles,
We are not even one full month into Kamala Harris’ campaign to be our next president, and it's clear that the energy she's injected into this race is actually moving the needle: In a Times/Sienna poll taken after President Biden withdrew from the race, Vice President Harris leads Trump by four points in each of the key battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. That is an incredible swing from the Biden polls and a reminder of how excited the country is for Harris' presidency and how tired they are of Trump's dangerous MAGA rhetoric.
The energy we're feeling is translating into tangible impact as voters turn toward Harris' message of freedom and hope for the future -- but it’s up to us to keep growing that excitement and take it all the way to the ballot box.
Next week is the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and Vice President Harris is speaking in prime time on Thursday evening. So let’s make a party out of it 🥳
We’re organizing watch parties across the country for Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ DNC speech on Thursday, August 22! If you’re ready to celebrate with your friends and neighbors, check out our toolkit here and start planning your local event.
We are in a cultural-political moment. As Trump’s MAGA momentum potentially wanes and Vice President Harris continues to energize new voters across the country, it’s crucial that we harness this energy and transform it into action all the way through November. That’s where you come in.
Let’s make an event out of Harris’ convention speech. You can register yours here, and if you need planning help, use our House Party Toolkit.
But, keep it simple:
- Pick your time and location, then gather your friends
- Watch the speech together
- Make an ask at the end for folks attending -- whether it’s to sign up to reach local voters with Neighbor2Neighbor, join an upcoming virtual phonebank, or write letters to voters in key states, there’s something for everyone to do right now
- Be an “accountabili-buddy,” and follow up with attendees afterward about your ask
These don’t need to be massive, press-oriented events. In fact, they shouldn’t be! These should be the type of community fun you might think of for a Superbowl party or to watch the Olympics.
Make a dip. Prep a themed cocktail or mocktail. Whip up a hotdish. Let’s have fun AND save democracy.
Ready to be the host with the most? Start planning your DNC watch party now and gather your community to celebrate this joyful, historic moment together.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
