We’ve always known that preparing for a safe and secure election in November 2020 would be a race against the clock.
Dear John,
We’ve always known that preparing for a safe and secure election in November 2020 would be a race against the clock. But as the national focus shifts away from getting voters to the polls to what “the polls” even look like in a pandemic, our end goal remains clear: election security best practices are more important now than ever. This is the core of Verified Voting’s work, and it is the message we will keep repeating, as long and as loudly as it takes.
We’re speaking out:
On how to avoid a repeat of the chaos in Wisconsin (WJLA);
On the need for funding to support election security measures (Bloomberg News);
On the considerations involved in ramping up vote-by-mail, and managing risks in elections (NPR audio interview);
On why election security is about public health, and not a partisan issue (Al Jazeera); and
Advising the Washington Post editorial board about the dangers of internet voting for their editorial.
We need your voice, too. Please help us spread the word that election security is integral to our democracy by sharing our materials and security recommendations with your friends and contacts. And if you can, please consider a gift to help us ensure that no matter what happens in November, every voter can cast a ballot and know it will be counted as cast.
2020 will truly be one of the greatest tests our democracy has ever faced. But if we hold true to the best practices and principles that have guided us thus far, we can keep our elections – and our nation – strong and resilient. Thank you for standing with us.
