Dear John,

Today is Social Security’s 89th Anniversary!
More than 52 million seniors have paid (and about 180 million workers are currently paying) their hard-earned money into Social Security.

These are your earned benefits. They do not belong to the politicians in Washington who want to use them like a piggy bank to pay for other fiscal priorities.

That’s why we must continue to stand strong for America’s most popular and effective program — and defend Social Security from devastating benefit cuts on the horizon! Please make a Social Security Anniversary Gift today to help the National Committee protect and strengthen this vital lifeline for millions of Americans and their families.

As you may know, the National Committee has been fighting to protect the benefits of workers and retirees for 41 years. Every day we are communicating with Senators and Representatives, and acting in your best interests through advocacy, education and grassroots efforts.

But all that takes a lot of personnel, a lot of footwork and a lot of time researching — and communicating — the truth. It also takes a lot of money.

So please help the National Committee bolster our urgent campaign to fend off reckless attacks on your earned benefits and pass critical legislation in Congress that will boost monthly benefits, improve the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) formula and make the wealthy pay their fair share into Social Security by making an Anniversary Gift today.

We are grateful for any generous support you can give!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
