The National Harm Reduction Conference is, for many of us, an opportunity to be with our chosen family, colleagues, comrades, and allies. Every two years, the conference provides respite from the challenging and sometimes isolating environments in which we work to make positive change in the world. Our conference is designed to foster learning, dialogue, growth, connection, inspiration, and renewal.
The safety and wellbeing of the harm reduction community is our team’s most critical priority, which compels us to be even more vigilant in the midst of this global pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are navigating important decisions that will keep attendees and the people of Puerto Rico safe.
Right now we are evaluating all available and imaginable options and scenarios to make informed decisions rooted in our values. We hope to have more to share with you soon, as we continue to consult with local community partners and others on the way forward.
We believe in the resilience of our community; we believe in our ability to heal and thrive. We see you, we love you, and we stand with you. We are all in this together.

In solidarity,
Monique, Maria, and the National Harm Reduction Conference Team
