Air Quality Alert Impacts Burning Permits
Burning Permits will not be activated August 14, 2024 in parts of northeast Minnesota.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for parts of northeast Minnesota from today, August 14, until Thursday at 6 am.
To reduce additional air pollutants, burning permits will not be issued or activated. Campfires are discouraged. Area includes Carlton, Cook, Lake, and St. Louis counties.

The air quality is expected to reach the orange air quality index. This level is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
