In the past several months, I’ve been traveling across Virginia, and my discussions with hundreds of Virginians reveal a common theme: We must do more to support working families.

Families need access to quality child care, health care, a living wage, affordable housing, and paid leave during times of illness or emergency. Unfortunately, too few families can either afford or access these essentials.

That’s why I’ve spent my time in elected office advocating for Virginia’s children and their families:

Championing historic investments in our public schools so that every child has quality education opportunities
Fighting for affordable rent and tenant protections so that housing is safe and affordable
Pushing to establish a statewide Paid Family and Medical Leave program so that nearly 3.5 million Virginians are able to access it in times of need
Increasing Virginia’s minimum wage so that hardworking Virginians do not work 2 or 3 jobs and barely keep a roof over their heads

Creating a more affordable Commonwealth for Virginia’s families requires effective and collaborative policy and the right people in public office. We can't do it without your help.
