On August 14th, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law. This transformational legislation has helped millions of Americans stay out of poverty for nearly 9 decades and for generations to come.

During his administration, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have protected the Social Security Act by blocking House Republicans proposed cuts to Social Security. Vice President Kamala Harris said during her campaign, “We are going forward. Forward to expanded Social Security, expanded Medicare, and lower drug prices.” She is ready to fight for Social Security and the 67 million Americans who receive it’s benefits.

On the other hand, Donald Trump’s Project 2025 plan states that he intends to cut Social Security if he is re-elected in November.

Team, we have a responsibility right now to fight, make our voices heard, and continue protecting Social Security. We need a leader like Vice President Kamala Harris who is ready to fight and defeat Donald Trump’s endless attacks and to take back the U.S. House to block House Republicans’ plans to cut Social Security.
