The results are final in Minnesota, and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to continue to serve the people of the 5th district in Congress.

Last night's primary victory would not have been possible without the incredible support of people like you. Thank you.

As a little girl, huddled in a refugee camp and displaced by a civil war, I just wanted to make it out alive. I never could have imagined that one day I would have the privilege of representing the community that welcomed me with open arms in Congress.

It has truly been beyond my wildest dreams. And with this victory, we have shown that Minnesota doesn't just welcome refugees — we send them back to Congress.

I am grateful to every single person who made this possible.

I want to thank the love of my life, my husband Tim. I want to thank our beautiful kids Isra, Adnan, William, and Ilwad, who motivate me every single day to build a brighter world.

I want to thank my entire team who worked tirelessly to ensure we prevailed yesterday. To all my staff, this work would not be possible without you.

To the volunteers who knocked on doors and made calls all across the 5th district, this victory is yours. I want you to know how proud I am of the work you've done, and of the work we've done together.

Over the past five years, we have changed the arc of what is possible.

We fed 30 million kids during the pandemic.

We started a movement that has canceled student debt for 5 million people in this country.

We passed the most ambitious climate bill in history.

We shifted the national conversation on so many issues, from calling out the horrific genocide in Gaza, to ending subsidies for fossil fuel companies, to tacking the housing affordability crisis.

We've helped thousands of constituents here in Minnesota with issues big and small.

We hosted over a hundred town halls and roundtables — far more than almost any other member of Congress.

We brought home $54 million for projects that are going to change the lives of countless Minnesotans for generations to come.

The work we have done together has been life-changing for so many across our district — and we are still just getting started.

I always say that you get what you organize for, and in this campaign, we proved that together.

Last night, we proved that organized people will beat organized money.

We showed the right-wing special interests and dark money groups that Minnesota's 5th district is not for sale.

We chose hope. We chose joy. We chose a future where anything is possible.

I have never once taken for granted the trust that you have placed in me. I promise that I will always have your back, just as you have had mine.

I truly cannot wait to see all that we will accomplish together in the next two years and beyond.

Thank you so much.

In solidarity,

Ilhan Omar

Last night's victory has shown that when we're in the fight together, there is absolutely NOTHING that we can't accomplish.

But as Ilhan said, our progressive movement's work is just getting started. Work that none of us — not Ilhan or anyone else — can do alone.

Can you add a contribution to stand with her and become a General Election Founding Donor to our campaign today? Every donation, no matter the amount, means so much to our people-powered movement.
