Eva Edl is a barely five-foot woman with an ever-so-slight Eastern European accent. When she saw us enter the courtroom, she greeted us with a courageously sweet smile and a little wave so as not to draw the court's attention to our unspoken communication.
Lucia and I had the privilege of sitting with Eva and her daughter Laura during the lunch break on day two of Eva’s trial. We told her about your support and all of those who had signed petitions pleading with the prosecutor on her behalf. She was shocked and asked if she could somehow thank you. I assured her I would send a copy of a thank-you letter as soon as this ordeal is over.
I will never forget the tight and lingering hug she gave me as we left that afternoon to deliver the signatures to the federal prosecutor's office.
I want to personally thank you for your steadfast support in the ongoing fight for justice for Eva Edl. It is such an honor to tell her of the national support she has gained.
Even though we brought attention and national support by delivering over 13,000 petitions to the federal prosecutor in Detroit, Michigan, the journey is far from over. Eva, an 89-year-old concentration camp survivor and pro-life activist, remains in court for another 2-3 weeks as we await the decision that will determine her fate.
Eva is earnest in her love for the unborn and undaunted by the accusations of wrongdoing. However, her peaceful protests at Michigan abortion clinics have led to severe federal charges, and if convicted, she could face over a decade in prison.
Despite these challenges, Eva’s faith remains unshaken. Your support has been crucial in this fight, but now, more than ever, we need to stay vigilant, pray for her, and let her know we stand for her, just as she stands for the innocent unborn.
We took your voice to Michigan! I promise to keep you informed about updates on her case and the latest developments, knowing you understand the gravity of what’s at stake.
Thank you for being part of this critical effort for Eva. Not everyone will do what Eva has done to defend the lives of the unborn, but we can all stand with Eva for her right to do so!
