Rob is championing the fight to end the gun violence epidemic. Here’s what he’s done so far this month:
Ending the gun violence epidemic is one of Rob’s biggest priorities as our Attorney General.
From his work to get ghost guns and bump stocks off of our streets, to the countless briefs he has filed in support of commonsense gun laws across the country, Rob has spent his first term as AG fighting to stop gun violence and save lives in California and beyond.
In just the first two weeks of August, Rob has already undertaken some major actions as part of his work to end the gun violence epidemic:
- Alongside attorneys general from across the country, Rob filed an amicus brief earlier this month in support of a Minnesota law that requires anyone who receives a permit to carry a handgun in public to be at least 21 years old.
- Last week, Rob joined San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott to announce the new San Diego Gun Violence Prevention Program Task Force. This program will ensure that people who are subject to protection orders and who are not legally allowed to have a firearm are quickly and safely disarmed. This work is critical to protecting survivors and keeping firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals.
- This week, Rob will hold the latest in a series of gun violence prevention roundtable discussions with community leaders and members in San Bernardino.
Rob is committed to defeating the NRA and MAGA Republicans who seek to undermine commonsense gun laws in California and nationwide. But it’s an uphill climb — and we still have plenty of work to do.
