Have you taken a look at the recent headlines?
If you haven’t, here’s the rundown: Headline after headline has outlined the dangers our communities are facing from extreme weather events this summer. Extreme heat waves, wildfires, floods, and as you’re reading this email, a tropical storm is en route to Puerto Rico.
We all should be concerned about the dangers extreme heat + global warming are causing. It isn’t normal we’re breaking records every summer. It isn’t normal to see disastrous natural weather events become more catastrophic. Our country and our infrastructure are not properly prepared for climate resiliency — action is needed and long overdue.
While this is a dire situation, that doesn’t mean we are losing hope. We have the solution to address the lack of preparedness: a Green New Deal.
Our network is continuously amplifying calls to action for Congress to take the climate crisis with the seriousness it deserves. Will you support our efforts to create more investments for climate, justice, jobs, and clean energy by making a contribution toward our network? Every donation allows us to expand on our outreach strategies to get one step closer to a Green New Deal.
We need to pass a Green New Deal to invest in updating our buildings, homes, transportation, and state infrastructure to withstand rising temperatures, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and more. Our window to take meaningful, tangible action to tackle the climate crisis head-on is this year. Donate now to support our work.
In solidarity,
Green New Deal Network
