Our worst fears have come true in Sudan.

Conflict, displacement, and now famine, are causing unimaginable suffering in parts of Sudan, including the Zamzam camp in North Darfur.

26 million people across Sudan face acute hunger, struggling to put enough food on their plates every single day.

Forced child marriages, which have already been rampant amidst conflict in Sudan, tend to increase throughout hunger crises like this one. Women often eat last, and eat the least.

From the moment conflict began last year and sparked the world’s largest displacement crisis, UNFPA was on the ground delivering lifesaving care, equipment, and services to the women and girls who needed it most.
