From a young age, Gloria understood the power of opportunity. Born and raised in Amherst on a small farm, Gloria was involved in all aspects of farm life, and as a teenager, she worked in the tobacco fields every summer. Her father pushed her to pursue a college education, and from there she began a 32-year career in the corporate world. After retiring, she dedicated herself to giving back to her community and helping others succeed. Gloria has been focused on listening to her community’s struggles so she can fight for them while in Congress – she’ll work to create smart economic growth, address the gun violence epidemic, and create affordable child care.
