Post Date: 08/13/2024 3:52 PM Earlier today, a 6? natural gas line was ruptured by a land clearing crew at South Winfree and Ripkowski Drive. Centerpoint Energy is on scene and will be making the necessary repairs. The estimated time of completion will be approximately midnight or later. Residents in the area may still smell the strong Mercaptan odor, but they should not be alarmed. The Fire Department and Fire Marshall have also responded and tested the air quality. All perimeters were within safe levels.
