Patriot,
When I sat down to write a birthday greeting to my hero, Dr. Ron
Paul, I decided to look for inspiration from where I discovered
him: the Internet.
Like many supporters of Dr. Paul, I watched the 2008 presidential
debates and for the first time felt like I had found a politician
who was just plain making sense.
I was used to politicians telling me what they thought I wanted
to hear.
Dr. Paul told me the truth.
He said we don't have to just accept endless wars, growing debt,
and poverty.
There is another way. We can have peace and prosperity.
One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Paul that still rings true
today reads,
"Instead of wars and inflation and spying and poverty, we can
have peace and freedom and the blessings for our children and
grandchildren of doing better than we have, of secure retirements
and childhoods. No more theft-of our savings or our liberty."
What I first admired about Dr. Paul, and what inspires me to this
day, is his absolute bravery to speak his mind to crowds even if
some show animosity toward him and his ideas.
I am sure many of you have watched in admiration as Dr. Paul
speaks the truth!
That courage is something that is hard to find, not only in
Washington, D.C., but anywhere.
Of course, thankfully, that is no longer the case.
Gone are the days where Dr. Paul is standing alone, being the
lone no vote on unconstitutional legislation.
Dr. Paul stood for us for so long, it's time for us to stand with
him!
