Volunteer with us
Many roles are needed for these empowering events to be successful. We are seeking volunteers for the following roles: fixers, fixer apprentices, event runners and registrars, and community partners!
If you’re interested in volunteering, please submit a volunteer fixer interest form or contact the program at [email protected]. This is the first step in volunteering for Fix-it Fairs. Once we’ve received your form, we’ll contact you with next steps.
Become a fixer or fixer apprentice
Do you have mending, repairing, or fixing skills? Join us as a fixer or fixer apprentice! Fixers and fixer apprentices can bring their own tools or equipment, but it isn’t necessary! We’ll provide basic tools, equipment, and small supplies. If you choose to bring your tools or equipment, the Fix-it Fair coordinator will need to approve them prior to the event.
Become an event volunteer
Event volunteers are also needed to help with these events! Event volunteers will help set up and break down, check community members in, explain to participants how the event works, escort participants to fixer stations, and check out participants. Event volunteers may also be tasked with collecting data on items fixed and using a computer.
Become a community partner
We’re also looking for community partners! Community partners can share resources at the events, provide a venue, volunteer, or donate items. Other ideas are welcome!
