I wanted to share with you a few updates.
Recently, I gathered North and East County San Diego leadership to bring our resident’s transportation priorities directly to the new SANDAG CEO Mario Orso. I will continue to press SANDAG for transformative change, which is long overdue.
Along with the U.S. Travel Association, I gathered a terrific group of local business leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing tourism in Southwest Riverside County and the San Diego region.
I also held a North San Diego County dialogue to discuss needed federal policy solutions.
As a leader on Second Amendment rights, I introduced new legislation, the Freedom from Unfair Gun Taxes Act, to stop states like California from imposing punitive excise taxes on legal firearms and ammunition purchases.
I pressed for action in response to recent admissions that Iranian funding is behind anti-Israel protests in the United States.
And, in an era of AI expansion, I introduced legislation to protect a person’s voice, image, and likeness from being used in unauthorized commercial ways.
