As you know, friend, one of the first things I do when meeting voters is grab a pen and open up my notebook. 

I listen to their stories, to the problems facing our communities and their ideas for making our government work better — and then I write it all down and take those thoughts with me to Washington. 

As much as I wish I could, friend, I can’t meet everyone in person. That’s why I recently asked you to share your feedback with me directly in a survey. I know we ask for your input a lot, but it’s so helpful for informing our strategy and priorities. That’s why I wanted to share a bit of insight into this team's responses:

* The three issues that are top of mind are reproductive freedom, voting rights and gun safety. These are all priorities for me, too. That's why I've been fighting to protect and restore reproductive rights by passing the Equal Rights Amendment. It's why I introduced and supported legislation to expand the right to vote. And it's why my federal ban on gun trafficking was included in the first major federal gun safety bill passed in over three decades.
* Over 86% of you said that codifying Roe v. Wade is one of the top priorities — if not the top priority — for you this year. It's been over two years since the Dobbs decision stripped away our basic, fundamental right to reproductive freedom. No matter how long it takes, I won't stop fighting until we reinstate our right to control our bodies and decide our futures.
* The top three campaign efforts that survey respondents think Democrats should focus on are voter registration and mobilization, TV and digital advertising and community town halls. Alongside other New York Democrats, I’ve set up a state-focused campaign called the New York Majority Fund to do just that. Right now, we're enhancing voter file records, ensuring that our phone bank and door-to-door operations are efficient, bringing on more staff and growing our grassroots movement. 


Your stories, your concerns and your priorities are always at the center of everything I do. That's what makes your input so meaningful — because it's what fuels my continued fight in the Senate to secure progress for you and your family.

It is an honor to do this work, friend, and I'm committed to continuing the fight to protect personal freedoms and save our democracy — but I can't do it alone. That's why I'm counting on grassroots Democrats, like you, to help me reach my $100,000 goal before my mid-month deadline.
